Biography

Perizaad Zorabian born October 23, 1973 is an Indian actress who made her debut with Nagesh Kukunoor's movie, Bollywood Calling.

Perizaad studied in New York City and upon acquiring an MBA returned to India to assist her father in his poultry farm business. Once back in India, she was spotted at a wedding by a socialite and a friend, who presented her to the world of modeling and glamour.

She recently married construction tycoon and alleged gangster Boman Rustom Irani (not to be confused with the actor Boman Irani) on December 9, 2006.

She also made international headlines when she declined a role in a lesbian-centered film, citing her "own personal inhibitions about playing a lesbian” as the driving force behind her decision. Purva Bedi has since accepted the role in When Kiran Met Karen.

Perizaad entered into the glamour world by first doing an ad for Clearsil. Later she left for New York where she did her MBA and also theatre with Lee Strasberg. She came back to India and played the part of Maya in a TV Soap called Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye.

She entered Bollywood with Nagesh Kukunoor's movie, Bollywood Calling. She acted in Jogger's Park with Victor Banerjee and other films such as Viral Lakhia's Namaste and Anant Balani's Mumbai Matinee. In the Chinese film, Bandung Sonata, she played Indira Gandhi. However, Jogger's Park has been the most successful project of her career till now.

She also acted in the film Morning Raga with co-star Shabana Azmi. Her most recent and on going film is Ek Ajnabee with co-star Amitabh Bachchan. She also worked with Malcolm McDowell in the film Exitz in which she plays an Indian model. Other upcoming projects are Moonlight, Highway 203, among others.

Ayesha Takia born 1986 in Mumbai, India is an Indian actress.Ayesha Takia was raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra.She comes from a mixed family. Her father is Gujarati, and her mother is half British and half Maharashtrian.[citation needed] She has said in interviews that she grew up speaking English at home and had to learn Hindi and Telugu for her film roles.

According to Ayesha, she has been a model since she was four years old. She appeared in the famous I'm a Complan Boy! I'm a Complan Girl! campaign alongside Shahid Kapoor and also in a music video, Falguni Pathak's Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye, when she was only fifteen. She then appeared in the video, Shake It Daddy, which brought her to the attention of the movie industry, and a few film offers followed.

She signed a contract for Socha Na Tha, then for Taarzan: The Wonder Car. However, delays in making Socha Na Tha meant that Taarzan released first and was therefore her "debut" film.

She won the Filmfare Best Debut Award in 2004 for her performance in Taarzan.

She has appeared in a number of films that have done poorly at the box office. However, she has been highly praised for her work in the 2006 Dor, a smaller budget film in which she plays the role of a young widowed Rajasthani woman living in a traditional joint family.She went on to win a Zee Cine Critics Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film Dor.

Preity Zinta born 31 January 1975 is an award-winning Indian actress who appears in Bollywood movies. She is among the most successful actresses in the industry,and is regarded as one of the biggest names in India.Zinta has primarily acted in mainstream cinema having the biggest hits of the last years, but has also done some critically acclaimed films.Today, she has the highest number of grossing films than any other actress of her generation.

Zinta met Shekhar Kapur when she accompanied her friend to an audition and was auditioned too. Coincidentally, after Kapur saw her audition he insisted on her to become an actress. Zinta was meant to make her acting debut with Kapur's Tara Rum Pum Pum opposite Hrithik Roshan but the film never took off.Later, Kapur recommended her for Mani Ratnam's Dil Se.

Technically her first film was Kundan Shah's Kya Kehna but it got delayed till 2000 .The delay of another film Soldier meant that she made her acting debut with Dil Se (1998).The film was her breakthrough role and she won the Filmfare Best Debut Award for her performance,which was only twenty minutes long.This was followed by the hit Soldierand Sangharsh, which did not do well at the Box Office, but gained her recognition as an actress. Zinta also starred in two Telugu films.

Kareena Kapoor,born 21 September 1980 nicknamed "Bebo" is a four-time Filmfare Award-winning Indian popular actress who appears in Bollywood movies.Since her debut in the 2000 film, Refugee, she has acted in nearly 30 films, majority of them bringing her critical success rather than commercial success.Despite this fact, she has emerged today as one of the top and most versatile actresses from the industry.

Kareena attended Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and then went to Welham Girls Boarding School in Dehradun. She then went to Harvard for summer school and took a course in microcomputers and information technology for three months.Set on pursuing an acting career, she then took an admission in Government Law College at Churchgate to become a lawyer. After completing one year there, she went back to her initial plan of joining the film industry,where she attended the Kishore Namit Kapoor acting school.

Kareena had planned to debut in Rakesh Roshan's Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai but left the project a few days into the filming.She made her debut in J.P. Dutta’s Refugee in 2000 with Abhishek Bachchan and won critical acclaim for portraying the role of a Pakistani girl.The role earned her an award for Filmfare Best Debut (Female).

Aishwarya Rai was born in Mangalore, in the South Indian state of Karnataka, to Krishnaraj Rai, a marine engineer, and Vrinda Rai, a writer. Her ancestors are from the Bunt (community) of Mangalore.Her family later relocated to Mumbai(Bombay). Rai has one brother, Aditya Rai, who is three years older than she is. Aditya is a film producer, and has occasionally produced films in which Rai acted. Aditya got married in early 2004.

Rai attended the Arya Vidya Mandir at Santacruz, Mumbai, then entered Ruparel College, Matunga, Mumbai. She was an A student and was on track to become an architect.Her mother tongue is Tulu. She also speaks Hindi, English, Urdu, Kannada and Tamil.

Rai began modeling on the side while studying architecture. In the 1994 Miss India contest, she was placed second behind Sushmita Sen, and went on to win the Miss World title that same year and the Miss Photogenic award. After the one year reign as Miss World in London, she then worked as a professional model, in advertising and Indian fashion magazines.

She has formerly dated Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi. After much speculation concerning their relationship, her engagement to Abhishek Bachchan was announced on January 14, 2007. Katrina Kaif is one of eight siblings, all girls, from a mother who is a Caucasian of British Nationality, and a father who was formerly from Kashmir, India, but who has since acquired British citizenship.Katrina grew up in Hawaii, but was brought up in London, UK. She started modeling accidentally when she was in Hawaii at the tender age of 14, when she was approached for a jewelery campaign.
